Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has unveiled a new metal-clad entry level phone. Honor 7A has dual cameras, an 18:9 screen and low-end specifications.
Huawei has unveiled a new entry-level phone in its Honor brand. The Honor 7A comes with a 2.5D glass display at the front, with a dual-camera setup on the back.
Design and Display
The display at the front is a 5.7” 2.5D panel, with 2:1 aspect ratio. It does come with a slightly below-par HD+ (720 x 1440) resolution, even though its competitors have long graduated to Full HD+ (1080 x 2160).
Despite being an entry-level phone, Honor 7A sports an aluminum body, complete with a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Internals and Storage
Under the hood, you get an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, with an Adreno 505 GPU. There’s an option of either 2 or 3 GB RAM, as well as 32 GB of expandable storage.
It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 and is a dual SIM phone by default.
Camera(s)
This is the point where the two RAM variants differ the most. The 3 GB version comes with a dual-camera setup on the back with 13 and 2 MP lens, helping create a bokeh effect. The 2 GB variant skips on the 2 MP shooter and features a single 13 MP camera.
The front 8 MP f/2.0 lens is the same on both, with an LED Flash.
Battery
Battery capacity of the phone is set at 3000 mAh. Honor 7A will be available in Black, Gold, and Blue.
Pricing is set at $130 for the 2 GB version, with the 3 GB version setting you back by $160.
